HOW TO VERIFY WHEN A SMARTPHONE WAS FIRST USED BY ANDROID DEVICES, INCLUDING SAMSUNG GALAXY AND LG OPTIMUS G SERIES ON SOUTH KOREAN CARRIERS SKT, KT AND LG U PLUS
*This is crucial because manufacturer and telecommunications company warranty is valid for a year from the day it was first used to make a call, rather than manufactured date .
[ ON SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS GALAXY SERIES ]
- turn ON smartphone,
- open screen to make a call,
- enter numeric key pads : 319712358
- when the phone will automatically switch to Hidden Menu :
where your dedicated carrier will show up on top bar
(South Korean cell phones used to be carrier-locked within South Korea, and unlocked for use abroad, but from the smartphone age : this came to be inter-changeable) - you will be prompted to input password for appropriate carrier so enter :
for SKT : 996412 /for KT : 774632 /for LGU+0821 - where Debug Menu will appear, then select System :
- and click on First Call near the bottom 😉
[ ON LG ELECTRONICS OPTIMUS G SERIES ]
- turn On smartphone,
- enter in order : 5457 # * (your model number)
for example, if using LG G Pro whose model number is LG 240S :
enter : 5457 # * 240 or on G3 whose model number is LG 260S :
enter : 5457 # * 260 - then Debug Menu will appear automatically
*with your dedicated carrier name (such as SKT, KT or LG U+)
appearing for a couple of seconds towards 2/3 down the page . - here push on [Menu Key] on bottom right,
( for LG G3 series which does away with soft buttons up-front :
add # after the model number in this case 400 #
or for Cat.6 : 460 # then press volume-up button on rear )
and the First Call Date will pop-up in the center !
